A highly delightful, and magical read.The author does have some editing issues, but that in no way interfered with my enjoyment of this story.The story begins with our eighteen year old protagonist, Maxime, explaining his sad past and what has happened to him. He will be leaving an orphanage where affection has been expressed only through sex. He will be working on a farm--what will his future there hold for him?
There are many young men, and some young women at this farm--it is a commune of sorts overseen by a married couple--a transition from the orphanage.
I don't want to give away too much of the author's wonderful, amazing story here--so I will only say that one day Maxime goes for a very long walk that takes him to a mysterious wall with a door in it that can only be unlocked by a key. What he discovers there shows the author's keen imagination and quite original thinking.
This is a continued story, so be expecting a sequel that will reveal further extraordinary adventures of our hero Maxime.
